Icebergs Beach Pool Bondi

Icebergs Beach Pool Bondi

Located in Bondi, approximately 8km’s east of Sydney, Icebergs Beach Pool is perched on the southern edge of Bondi Beach. Icebergs Beach Pool Bondi is one of Australia’s most photographed and recognisable swimming spots. With waves crashing over its ocean-fed lanes and panoramic views stretching across the Pacific, the pool offers a uniquely Sydney experience that blends fitness, relaxation, and coastal culture.

How many pools are there at Icebergs?

What makes Bondi Icebergs so special is its location. Built directly into the rocks beside Bondi Beach, the 50-metre lap pool sits just metres from the surf. On rough ocean days, waves spill dramatically into the pool, creating a thrilling swimming experience unlike any standard aquatic centre. There’s also a smaller and shallower children’s pool, making it suitable for families as well as serious swimmers.

When is Icebergs Beach Pool Open?

The pool complex is open to the public year-round, allowing visitors to experience ocean swimming in every season. Current opening hours are:

  • Monday to Friday: 6:00am – 6:30pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 6:30am – 6:30pm
  • Thursdays: Occasionally closed for cleaning depending on weather and tides.

One of the best times to visit is early morning, when the sunrise casts golden light across Bondi Beach and the pool is at its calmest. Many regular swimmers recommend arriving before 9am to avoid crowds and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Pool entry fees apply.

What facilities are at Icebergs?

Beyond the pool itself, the Icebergs complex offers several additional features that elevate the experience. Visitors can access a sauna overlooking the ocean, hot showers, changing facilities, and a poolside café for post-swim coffee or breakfast.  There’s also a gym and massage services onsite, making it easy to turn a quick swim into a full wellness day.

The adjacent Bondi Icebergs Club is another major drawcard. Sitting above the pool with sweeping beach views, the club includes a bistro, bars, and dining spaces that attract both visitors and locals. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch after a swim or simply enjoying the scenery, it’s one of Bondi’s most iconic social spots.
